Time Management Habits Check

Notice practical patterns in planning, estimating time, starting, finishing and moving between tasks.

Think about the last two to three weeks. Answer from what you have observed during school mornings, homework, activities and ordinary family routines.

1. My child knows the main tasks or commitments coming up tomorrow.
2. My child uses a visible list, calendar or timetable when several things need doing.
3. My child remembers materials needed for school or activities with limited prompting.
4. My child's estimate of how long a familiar task will take is reasonably close.
5. My child allows extra time for getting ready, packing up or small delays.
6. My child notices when a task took longer than expected and adjusts next time.
7. My child starts routine tasks at the agreed time without many reminders.
8. My child starts larger work before the last possible day or hour.
9. When reluctant, my child can begin with one small step.
10. My child leaves enough time to check and properly finish a task.
11. My child packs away and prepares for the next activity without a long delay.
12. My child can stop one enjoyable activity at an agreed time and move on.
