Focus Habits Check

Notice everyday patterns in how your child starts, stays with, returns to and resets after a task.

Think about the last two to three weeks. Choose the answer that best matches what you have observed, across ordinary days rather than one unusually easy or difficult day.

1. My child begins a familiar task after one clear reminder.
2. My child can name the first small step when a task feels large.
3. My child gathers what they need before beginning.
4. My child stays with a short, age-appropriate task until the agreed stopping point.
5. My child keeps working when one part is dull or takes effort.
6. My child checks what remains before deciding the task is finished.
7. My child can keep a phone, game or unrelated tab away during a work block.
8. My child notices when noise or nearby activity is making focus harder.
9. My child can return attention after a small distraction without a long argument.
10. After a break, my child returns at the agreed time.
11. When stuck, my child tries a small reset before giving up.
12. After an interruption, my child can identify the next step and continue.
